As a minimally invasive “medium” skin peel, the Obagi® Blue Peel is outstanding at reducing superficial lines & wrinkles, acne scarring and pitting, blemishes, and uneven pigmentation, freckles and sun damage.
The Obagi® Blue Peel uses a low concentration of Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) as the active ingredient mixed with the patented Blue Base from Obagi®. Unlike other TCA peels, the blue base in the Obagi® Blue Peel allows your skin practitioner to regulate the depth of the peel based on your level of damage and your desired level of Transformation.
The Obagi® Blue Peel can also be applied to the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs to dramatically improve your complexion. It is FDA approved (Food and Drug Administration).
We at Elite Cosmetic Surgery Group offer a range of skin peels to treat fine lines, shallow acne scars, dry or rough skin, dull skin tone, sun damage, hyper pigmentation, acne and enlarged pores. You will have a full consultation where a clinical assessment is performed and any issues relating to your treatment are discussed by you and your skin practitioner. This will help you to decide the preferred peel that will give you best results.
If the Obagi® Blue Peel is the peel of choice, you will be prescribed the Obagi® Nu-Derm System to be used in conjunction with the Blue Peel. It is designed to enhance the effects of the peel and to sustain healthier, younger-looking skin.
Preparing for the Obagi® Blue Peel
A skin conditioning programme using the Obagi® Nu-Derm System should be started at least 6 weeks before the Blue Peel is performed to ensure that the skin is in a healthy condition and to optimise the results of the Blue Peel.
The Obagi® Blue Peel is a quick, relatively simple and highly tolerable procedure that, in most cases, does not require sedation. Application of the Obagi® Blue Peel takes about 20 minutes, depending on the number of coats your skin practitioner has determined are necessary to achieve your goals. Immediately after the peel application procedure, a bluish tint remains on your skin, which usually washes off within 24 hours.
Following the Procedure
After the procedure, you will experience light erythema and your skin will peel within 2 to 3 days and will continue to peel for a few days. You should be healed in an average of 7 to 10 days. When your skin has finished peeling, you will immediately see improvement. The appearance of your skin will continue to improve for the next 4 to 6 weeks, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful.
At Elite Cosmetic Surgery Group you will be given detailed verbal and written information that is specific to your aftercare and you will be prescribed aftercare products to protect and moisturise your skin as part of the healing process.
