Asc. Prof. Dr. Lubos Drazan M.D., PhD. is a senior Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Masaryk University in Brno.
Dr. Drazan completed his Medical Degree at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic in 1981. He then went on to completing his residency in Plastic surgery. In 1992, Dr. Drazan, completed a two year Microsurgical and Breast Reconstruction fellowship at the University of Louisville, USA and at St. Joseph´s Hospital, Emory University, Atlanta, USA . During these fellowships, Dr. Drazan particularly focused on hand and breast reconstructions.
Dr. Drazan has in excess of 20 years’ experience in the field of Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has also undertaken research in several areas including microsurgical breast reconstruction with living tissue, Breast Cancer Prevention by Prophylactic Mastectomy and Immediate Reconstruction, Breast Cancer Prevention in Patients with Hereditary Risk flap reconstruction and Breast Cancer Prevention in Patients with Hereditary Risk. Dr. Drazan has presented his research at national and international conferences and has authored publications in key medical journals.
Dr. Drazan is an active member of the renowned affiliation, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). He has been the Czech National Delegate to the International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) since 1996 and was elected to be the President of Czech Society of Plastic Surgery (CSPCH) in 2010.
Dr. Drazan’s primary interests are in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, including microsurgery, breast reconstruction, cosmetic breast surgery and hand surgery. He has also an enormous breadth of experience in open and closed Rhinoplasty, utilising advanced techniques.
